In an Australian first, the REIQ – which is celebrating its centenary this year – is bringing one of the world’s most recognisable names in real estate, Brad Inman, to the Summit stage to share his insights on global real estate trends.

The founder of Inman Connect conferences in the US and the real estate news service, Inman, Brad is an innovative and creative thought leader. In addition to running a major events and news business he is also the driving force behind several growing start-ups.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella said Brad was known to be a provocateur and would give audiences plenty to think about.

“He loves to challenge people and get you thinking about the way things are versus the way they could be. He’ll show audiences how to approach the real estate business with a different attitude. He’s going to be amazing,” she said.

Mr Inman said while he had never been to Australia he had many great Aussie friends and had heard much about our industry.

“Like agents everywhere, there is a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt as everyone tries to figure out what technology to use, how to stay relevant and how to provide superior customer service,” he said.

“Fear that technology will disrupt agents is common. It will disrupt the lazy ones and the ones who do not adopt the best technology and provide the best customer service,” he said.

Ms Mercorella said the REIQ Summit was recognised as one of the best real estate conferences on the calendar and as the peak body celebrated 100 years, this event was the best it had hosted.

“We are building a reputation for bringing new and amazing people to the Summit stage. We were the first to bring US realtor-to-the-stars, Dolly Lenz, to Australia and now we’re the first to bring the incredible Brad Inman.

“Our audiences give us extraordinary feedback about the value of the event, the practical tips and the motivation and inspiration that our speakers deliver. A lot of thought goes into it before we extend an invitation to appear at Summit and we do not allow speakers to appear remotely from overseas,” she said.

“This is a real experience and everyone gets enormous value out of it.”

In addition to global keynote speaker, Brad Inman, Summit speakers include:
