Realty Media Group (RMG) Founder, Troy Rushton announced that his Proptech business has expanded its offering to listing and buyer agents, with the acquisition of market leading negotiation business, Only Source Property (OSP).
OSP co-founders Josh Deckart and Tom Pettifer, have pioneered a service that supports Buyers Agents to source, research, negotiate and purchase suitable properties for their clients.
“We are delighted to join RMG, and help fulfill their mission to develop a transactional ecosystem for professional buying and selling agents. We know from talking to selling agents, they are being regularly bombarded by buyers agents looking for stock. And now it can be efficient for both parties”, said Deckart.
Rushton explained the motivation to acquire OSP: “We are always searching for a better way to bring buyers and sellers together, and we see value in what OSP offers.”
“When we launched Realty.com.au as a listing portal, we recognised the opportunity to leverage social media, so we created a network of social pages, today with more than 1,000 local pages under the “Love Livin” brand we deliver thousands of property posts to almost 500,000 followers each week. Last year we added AI, with the launch of Australia’s first AI- powered property search for lifestyle searching.
More recently, we have recognised the emergence of buyer agents, and the opportunity to bring our technology and selling network together to develop a marketplace. We have been working with the team at OSP for several months and the acquisition of their business has enabled us to create an end to end transactional platform for professionals, providing early access, with a negotiation platform” he said.
The OSP founders will remain in leadership roles within the group, with Tom Pettifer, focused on growing the selling network, and Josh Deckart focused on building the buyers agent network, which already boasts more than 100 buyers agents who are transacting regularly.
Rushton added: “Our marketplace will allow professional buyers and sellers to transact more efficiently, and we believe that many vendors can now save thousands in advertising fees, while buyers will benefit from access to qualified, and skilled buyers agents, who are able to represent them in the transactions.” he concluded.
