This week the combined capital city preliminary clearance rate saw a slight improvement compared with last week, as the number of options Hill continued to bounce back from the Easter slow down. There were 2448 homes taken to auction this week, returning a preliminary clearance rate of 80.5%.

Melbourne’s 1,204 auctions returned a preliminary clearance rate of 78.1% while in Sydney the clearance rate was higher at 84.8%. Across the smaller cities, Canberra continued its strong performance, with 87.4% of home selling, followed by Adelaide at 82.8% and Brisbane at 72.7%.
