• Auctions grow slightly
  • Clearance slows a touch

After trending lower for three consecutive weeks, auction activity rose slightly this week to 1,667, an increase of 2.4%. After recording a small increase in preliminary clearance last week, this week’s preliminary clearance rate is down 2.2% with 56.4% of the 1,285 results reported being successful. 

With 656 homes auctioned this week, Melbourne maintained its position as the busiest auction market for the second consecutive week. Sydney was host to 639 auctions while across the smaller capital cities, Adelaide recorded the strongest preliminary clearance rate with 69.7% of options held recording a successful result.
