There were 2,090 homes taken to auction across the combined capital cities this week.

Melbourne was host to 606 auctions this week, down from 1,452 over the previous week. The lower volumes attributed to the Labour Day long weekend.

In Sydney, 1,028 homes were taken to auction across the city, well up on the previous week.

Across the smaller capitals, Canberra recorded the highest preliminary auction clearance rate (87.5 percent), followed by Adelaide (77.9 percent) and Brisbane (68.1 percent).
