There were 3,524 homes taken to auction across the combined capital cities this week, the second busiest auction week so far this year. This time last year, 1,747 auctions were held across the combined capitals. As of yesterday at 8am, there were 2,970 results collected so far, returning a preliminary auction clearance rate of 78.9 per cent.

There were 1,739 homes taken to auction in Melbourne this week, the third busiest week since March 2018. Of the 1,494 results reported so far, 77.4 per cent have been successful. In Sydney, there were 1,144 homes auctioned this week, and of the 996 results collected so far, we saw a preliminary clearance rate of 79.3 per cent.

Across the smaller auction markets, Canberra recorded the highest preliminary clearance rate at 90.3 per cent, followed by Adelaide (86.5 per cent), Brisbane (76.8 per cent) and Perth (46.2 per cent).
