{"id":10105,"date":"2017-08-30T09:58:12","date_gmt":"2017-08-29T23:58:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reuncut.com.au\/?p=10105"},"modified":"2017-08-30T09:58:12","modified_gmt":"2017-08-29T23:58:12","slug":"finding-a-real-estate-professional","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/channels.realty.com.au\/realtyuncut\/finding-a-real-estate-professional\/","title":{"rendered":"FINDING A REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONAL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There is mounting concern that the training for real estate \u2018professionals\u2019 leaves a lot to be desired.<\/p>\n<p>Industry leaders know that the current level of training that is required to receive a licence or certificate to operate as a real estate agent is very basic and does not reflect the importance of the duties carried out by agents in assisting buyers and sellers through a very complex and high value transaction.<\/p>\n<p>Although there has been significant moves made by some of the peak real estate bodies in Australia in recent times, the barrier to entry is still far too low.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.4bc.com.au\/podcast\/reiq-calls-on-qld-government-to-honor-its-promise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">A recent interview<\/a>\u00a0we conducted on Brisbane commercial radio 4BC with REIQ Chairman Rob Honeycombe is clear evidence of the level of concern.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Licensing is the responsibility of the various State Governments and it is those bodies that should be concerned about adequate training to ensure the protection of consumers yet they do not heed the warnings of the Institutes.<\/p>\n<p>If they were serious about consumer protection they should be getting on the front foot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is mounting concern that the training for real estate \u2018professionals\u2019 leaves a lot to be desired.
